About FillMyEDF
FillMyEDF is an independent, informational resource that explains India's new Export Declaration Form (EDF) requirement under RBI Notification No. FEMA 23(R)/2026-RB, effective 1 October 2026. From that date, every exporter of services and software must file an EDF with their Authorised Dealer bank within 30 days of the end of the month in which an invoice is raised, and realise and repatriate the full export value within 9 months, or 12 months if the export is invoiced or settled in Indian Rupees.
This site is built for Indian service exporters, software exporters, freelancers and one-person businesses, and SEZ units who now fall under the declaration obligation for the first time. It walks through who needs to file, the key deadlines, what the EDF form asks for, how to file with your AD bank, STPI or SEZ Development Commissioner, and where to find the official RBI source documents. Every regulatory statement cites the official notification, and every link points only to Reserve Bank of India websites.
FillMyEDF is created by Harshavardhan Shinde of Straitworks. It is an unofficial explainer and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Reserve Bank of India. The content is informational only and is not legal, tax or professional advice. Regulations change, so always verify the current position with your AD bank or a qualified professional before acting. A companion app to automate EDF preparation from invoices is coming soon.
